Last weekend saw the welcome return of EUOC's Big Weekend, albeit without the traditional Saturday night ceilidh.It was an excellent weekend, with good weather, great courses, and some excellent results for club members.

Fight With the Night (Pollock Halls, Friday 21st)

The weekend started on Friday night with Fight with the Night (FWTN) around Pollock Halls and the surrounding area. Competitors had to keeps their wits about them in a complex area with multiple levels, all while avoiding curious students, other competitors in some very tight passageways around buildings, and (allegedly) a few water-filled balloons to add to the fun.

Urban Race (Meadows / Exchange District / Dean Village, Saturday 22nd)

Saturday's Urban race was based in the Meadows. Shorter course starts were close to assembly; longer courses were a 15 minute walk away on Fountainbridge. The longer courses went straight into the Exchange District, with its multiple levels before heading north, with the longest courses reaching the far side of the Dean Village. All courses finished up on Bruntsfield Links. Apart from one control going AWOL towards the end of the event, all went smoothly, with some good route choices, along with the intricacies of the Dean Village and Exchange District to negotiate.

Arthur's Seat Classic Race (Sunday 23rd)

Sunday's classic race took place on Arthur's Seat, with assembly based in Holyrood Park to the north. There were (optional) mass starts for Brown and Blue, and these longer courses took in Meadowfield Park as well as Arthur's Seat. Some good route choices - up and over, or round the road?
