SOA
Interløpers are affiliated to the Scottish Orienteering Association (SOA), who provide policy, structure, training, etc., to the sport in Scotland. A link to the most recent issue of "SCORE" (December 2021) may be found here. However, this publication is no longer produced, and has been replaced with a monthly newsletter e-mailed to members.
British Orienteering
The UK Governing Body for Orienteering is formally known as the British Orienteering Federation Ltd. (BOF), branded as British Orienteering. It was formed at a meeting on 17 June 1967 at Barnard Castle from a merger of the English and Scottish Orienteering Associations, and was followed the next day by the first British Championships in Hamsterley Forest. The Senior courses were won by Gordon Pirie and Carol McNeill. The first BOF Chairman was Chris Brasher.
The BOF oversees Orienteering in the nine English Regions and the Northern Irish, Scottish, and Welsh Associations. The Club is affiliated through the SOA to the BOF. BOF is a member of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF).
