ESOA Championships 2022

Roxburgh Reivers hosted this year's ESOC Championships at Teviothead. Read on to find out more ...

It was Roxburgh Reivers' turn to host the ESOA (East of Scotland Orienteering Association) Championships this year, and the venue chosen was Teviothead, with registration and download in the local hall, along with hot drinks! Teviothead is a large area of open sheep-grazed moorland with some fast running amid the numerous marshes, and tested your ability to interpret the contours - very few if any paths here to help. There was also plenty of scope for parallel errors especially on the top of the hill. The brown course ventured to the south of the Binks Burn before looping back for the last few controls.

The weather was very kind to us all - unseasonably mild, no wind and no rain. When the results were in, Interlopers had 2 winners - congratulations to the Bartletts, with Pat winning M55 and Sam (on his first brown course) M18.
