Results from our SOUL in Livingston Deans:
The Routegadget map isn't geo-referenced (I did try but it wouldn't play ball) but my uploaded route fitted well enough after I'd moved the track very slightly sideways (west for the navigationally inclined!). For those not aware of it, Routegadget now has a 'ruler' feature (ruler icon next to settings icon, top right) that allows you to measure different route choices.
Memories of last year's event were brought back by the early rain, and our planner, controller and other helpers putting out the controls gto quite wet. A big shout out to Ian Pyrah, our controller, who apparently clocked up 14.5km putting out controls as it turned out some hadn't been woken up when they were put out. Fortunately Ian survived, and the rain stopped shortly after the first few starters had headed out.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the courses, set by planner Max, and there was plenty of discussion about route choice later. Also, as many of you noticed when looking at your splits, control 142 was in a timezone of its own (in fact, it was in 1948!!!), leading to a large negative then positive split. Many thanks to Robin Strain for helping to sort this out - the final result is an approximation based on my splits here and as far as we can tell the results for everyone look credible. It has no impact on overall time or position anyway.

A big thanks to all our volunteers, especially Max (planner), William (pre-event organiser), Paul (on the day organiser) and Ian (controller). Thanks also to Deans Community High School for a nice warm venue.
