Latest Club Newsletter - World Orienteering Champs 2024 Special Edition
Read all about the recent World Orienteering Champs in Edinburgh in our latest newsletter ...
WOC 2024 might be over (and Edinburgh’s streets are now busy in rather different ways) but the memories of 11-16 July will live on for some time to come! Vast numbers of Interlopers contributed to making it such a successful event, in all sorts of ways – read all about some of their experiences in our latest club newsletter. For some, WOC 2024 built on previous WOC roles and was the culmination of a number of years of involvement in planning and preparation (particularly when you remember that WOC was originally scheduled for 2022). For others, it was a totally new experience and a chance to participate in something pretty unusual and special on our home turf as an Edinburgh club. It’s probably fair to say we won’t see the like of it again, for a while at least!
There are some great pieces from a number of different perspectives, including
- Luke Fisher on being a running camera-man
- James Ackland on TV commentating
- Athletes’ perspectives on the Mixed Sprint Relays from Thomas, Colm, Aoife and Freddie
- Ann Haley on the indoor WOC tour event at Kings Buildings
- Paul C, Robin G, Oleg and Colin B on the general experience as volunteers.
Plus plenty of photos, even including WOC Animals!
Many thanks to everyone who contributed, and happy reading...
