Morningside Sprintelope #13 - Wednesday 20th July
13th Sprintelope of the 2022 season, in Morningside
The 13th Sprintelope of the 2022 season takes place on Wednesday 20th July. Like last year, we can now all race on the same evening, and won't need to allocate exact start times. Please pre-enter using this form.

Courses, Start and Finish
There will be a short and a long course. Event is organised by Scott Fraser. As both courses involve road crossings, under-16s must be shadowed. Terrain is typical Edinburgh suburban streets and parks plus the grounds of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. The long course will also pass through Morningside Cemetery as the 2019 event did - please don't run on the graves
Start and Finish is in Morningside Park, access from the north side on Balcarres Street - see map.There are no facilities in the park.
Map scale is 1:5000; maps will be printed on non-waterproof paper, A4 size, so please bring a polypocket if it's wet. Controls will be coloured tapes, with SI Timing for start / finish only.
- Short - approx 2.8km, 30m climb. NB: optimum route around 4.6km
- Long - approx 3.9km. 55m climb. NB: optimum route around 6.5km
When you have finished, please remember to download. Results will be posted to the website when ready - this may not be on Wednesday evening though! You can view the Munro League for Sprintelopes here.
SAFETY, OTHER USERS and TRAFFIC: Please take extra care when crossing roads as some roads could be busy. Please be courteous to pedestrians, cyclists, dog walkers and any other members of the public you encounter when running.
