Tea in The Park - Braidburn Valley Park 29th August 2026
The last Saturday in August is the annual Friends of Braidburn Valley Park “Tea in the Park”.
As this is one of our mapped areas, with permanent posts, and particularly as we have a Saturday afternoon local event coming up there, we always try to put on a demonstration orienteering activity. This year, that took the form of Paul and Jane setting up a four-by-four control grid, with various mini-courses available, together with some short courses using the POC posts.
The weather was perfect, and we had lots of interest, although perhaps not as much as the Duck Race.
There were lots of happy smiling faces, as well as a few confused smiling ones!, and we handed out lots of flyers for upcoming events across Edinburgh. All in all, a worthwhile couple of hours.
